PHILADELPHIA, PA. — So who is the best player in the Football Championship Subdivision, heading into the 2012 season?

Who is likely to be the top draft choice from the FCS ranks in the 2013 NFL draft?

Who are the top 100 players in the subdivision?

Our NFL columnist and draft expert takes a crack at answering those questions and much more with his list of the top 100 players in FCS.

Last season, wide receiver Brian Quick of Appalachian State established himself as the top player in the NFL's eyes and he was selected 33rd overall by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.

The previous year, offensive tackle Ben Ijalana of Villanova received that honor when he was selected in the second round by the Indianapolis Colts.

This year's favorite for that honor is Elon wide receiver Aaron Mellette.
