I felt compelled to write a rebuttal this after my colleague Charles Burton at College Sports Journal wrote why we hate the five time reigning national champions of North Dakota State. Well Chuck, I beg to differ in my view. Of course, my view comes from someone with some green and gold colored glasses.
North Dakota State, it’s time we had a talk. We get it. At the FCS level, you’ve been a terrific success story. You’ve won Missouri Valley football championships. You’ve upset a lot of FBS teams, the biggest one of all being a presesason contender for the Big 12, Kansas State, with an iconic game-winning drive.
The Big 12 has made some news this college football offseason as they have been publicly mulling expansion. They’ve been thinking about expanding by 2 teams, putting them at 12 overall, or 4 teams, putting them at 14. Reportedly eighteen schools, including some head-scratching candidates such as Air Force and Arkansas State, have pitched the Big.
