Lehigh was helped by Spider miscues esp in RZ… A good win but lots to work on.. Sacred Heart should be in win column but can’t have let down after a big opener..

I think they should have tried to score. If you want to do well in the polls, 28-14 looks better.

Thanks for pulling together such an informative article. As a ’74 graduate I remember Wake Forest, West Virginia and Southern Miss all getting thrashed before near sellout crowds at City Stadium. Lots of ups and downs since then. As they say, change is the only constant, but I am very proud of this years team and what they have accomplished.

I couldn’t agree more with this idea. As a former scholarship athlete in baseball that played as a D1 independent in the 1980’s, my school was a regular participant in the regional and even made the College World Series being the first school from Louisiana to advance. There’s no chance of that ever happening again as for basketball purposes we had to join a conference. This totally destroyed our baseball program as we can never recruit the caliber of players to play in a 2nd tier one bid conference. Being an independent in the deep south, we played one of the toughest schedules in the nation year after year in a quality venue that held 3500-4000 SRO which we filled many nights. That’s my rant and my feelings about the schools that want all sports to return to some sort of sanity.
