Wow, it was good to have a full week of football back. Week 0 did give us an appetizer last week but we got a full course dinner in Week 1. The big game in the Group of Five matched two Texas schools that feel they can win their respective conferences. Houston and UTSA met.

The biggest news this week was last Friday in the Group of Five will definitely be losing four of its strongest programs to the Big 12 Conference. The American Athletic Conference’s Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF, along with independent BYU, will be the four new members of the Power Five Conference. The Big 12 unanimously voted.

Group of Five 2020-21 Bowl Week 1 Recap & Highlights

What a first week of bowl action of the first ten bowl games of the season! Two games really caught my attention in UCF playing BYU and Coastal Carolina playing Liberty this week before the games started. BYU throttled UCF 49-23 in what looks to be QB Zach Wilson’s final collegiate game in the Boca.
