Grambling, Alabama State Picked As Preseason SWAC Divisional Champs

BIRMINGHAM, AL – At the SWAC media day this past Tuesday, Grambling was picked to finish in first place in the Western Division with the highest point total of all the other teams with 119 points.

 

In the Eastern division, Alabama State was picked to finish first with 108 points in an extremely close vote  Second-placed Jackson State (95 points) and third-placed Alabama A&M (94 points) were right behind.

Western Division
1.         Grambling State (20) 119 points
2.         Prairie View A&M (1) 82 points
3.         Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2) 69 points
4.         Southern (2) 54 points
5.         Texas Southern 51 points

Eastern Division
1.         Alabama State (11) 108 points
2.         Jackson State (7) 95 points
3.         Alabama A&M (7) 94 points
4.         Alcorn State (1) 42 points
5.         Mississippi Valley 36 points
