Missouri Valley Football Conference Week 8 Review
As the Missouri Valley entered into its third week of conference play, three teams remained undefeated going into this week of action. But only two came out of their meetings unscathed. North Dakota State and South Dakota State remained perfect in league play after their wins over Missouri State and Indiana State respectively. The third team, however, was not so lucky as South Dakota lost at Northern Iowa.
The league had two teams without a conference victory going into this week and unforunately for those two, each lost again this week. Youngstown State, who was undefeated outside of league play, lost big at Southern Illinois and winless for the season Western Illinois also could not notch its first win as it fell at home to Illinois State.
With the two undefeated league teams playing this week, we will be down to just a single unblemished league team after next week. That game between SDSU and NDSU in Brookings is also getting some national attention as it was announced that ESPN’s College Gameday pregame show will be there for the first time ever in the state of South Dakota and the third time it will be showcase NDSU after being in Fargo two times previously.
