CHICAGO, IL – Georgia faces Alabama on Saturday for the SEC championship.

While any SEC game is a big game, there is much that is going to be decided with the outcome on Saturday.

Most fans believe that Alabama will easily win this game, that may not be a wise conclusion to make.

Here are some reasons why Georgia could and should win this game.

Georgia Has Been Counted Out Already
Most college football experts and fans have already decided that Alabama is going to win this game and face Notre Dame for the national championship. Just the fact that everyone has taken Georgia lightly is reason enough why they will win. Alabama may be taking them lightly in the first half. If they do so, Georgia could race out to an early lead. They have to be fired up already just knowing that no one believes that they can win.

The Bulldogs Have A Balanced Offense
Quarterback Aaron Murray has 30 touchdown passes compared with just seven interceptions. Running backs Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall have combined for 22 touchdowns on the ground and each has run for at least six or more yards per carry. That equates to a balanced offense that can keep the ball out of the hands of the Alabama offense. Balance is going to be key against a defense that has given up fewer than 10 points a game this year.

Alabama Hasn't Really Beaten Anyone This Year
Most people say that the SEC is the best conference in football. In reality, it is no better than any other conference. There are a few good teams, a few average teams and a bunch of bad teams that everyone beats up on. In the eight conference games that Alabama played, their opponents had a combined record of 24-40.

Only two of their conference opponents had a winning record. Alabama was 1-1 in those games and gave up an average of 23 points, or nearly double their season average. In three games against teams with a winning conference record, Georgia was 2-1 with wins over Florida and a convincing win over Vanderbilt.

Georgia and Alabama should play a great game with a few classic moments sprinkled in for good measure. The fans are certainly going to be ready for this epic showdown between two great college football teams. However, anyone who says that Georgia has no chance has clearly not been following the Bulldogs and seen what they can do.
