2017 In A Sentence: It was a rough season for the Falcons, stumbling to a 5-7 record with Commander In Chief trophy losses to both Navy and Army.
Biggest Shoes to Fill: LB Grant Ross led Air Force in tackles with 97, while notching 9 1/2 tackles for loss and forcing 4 fumbles.

Key Players: Though Air Force’s bowl prospects seem to live and die by their defense, the offense runs through QB Arion Worthman. At his best last year, he is a wrecking crew, as evidenced by his 257 yards passing and 139 yards rushing against Navy. But can he stay healthy all season and put up those types of numbers consistently?
Fearless Prediction: Head coach Troy Calhoun hasn’t named his defensive coordinator yet for 2018, a pretty bad sign for a team that needs to fix its defensive woes to compete for a bowl spot. Another sub-.500 record, and a couple more CoC trophy losses, loom unless they can get their act together defensively.
