2017 In A Sentence: After Western Michigan went 13-1 and had a Cotton Bowl appearance in 2016 and also lost its head coach in P.J. Fleck, the only place it could go was down and the Broncos did that but did not have a full collaspe as it finished 6-6 and did not get a bowl bid.

Biggest Shoes to Fill:

Key Player: DE Max Crosby ranked fourth in the conference and sixth in the country in sacks, while coming in 14th nationally in tackles for loss. Overall, the now-junior finished with 57 tackles (31 solo, 26 assist) to go along with 16.5 tackles for a loss of 105 yards. He also forced four fumbles, while returning one for a score.

Fearless Prediction: If Eastern Michigan is to win more games than it loses this season, it will be due a running game that controls the clock due to the loss of QB Roback and a defense that limits big plays. Expect this to happen and the Eagles will again be in a bowl game.
