2017 In A Sentence: The Bulldogs with a very senior laden line-up finished 7-4 overall and 6-2 within the PFL but just could not overcome their historical PFL rival in Dayton or recent PFL giant San Diego to win the PFL crown.

Biggest Shoes to Fill: DL Tanner Evans was an anchor the defensive line that led the PFL with 19 sacks in league play and limited teams to just 127.2 yards rushing per game and. Evans led the Bulldogs and ranked third in the PFL with six sacks. He also recorded 44 tackles with 7.5 tackles for a loss and two pass breakups.

Key Player: With many other starters lost, the Drake leadership this year will need to come from the only returning member in senior S Sean Lynch. He led the team with 72 tackles including 50 solo stops and recorded a career-best 11 solo tackles against Jacksonville last year.

Fearless Prediction: The Bulldogs return an outstanding core of players including seven offensive starters and six defensive starters. The team looks to build off their second-place finish and possibly overtake their PFL nemeses in Dayton and San Diego for a chance for the PFL crown.
