College Sports Journal Sagarin FBS G5 Top 25 – Dec. 19

Here are the Top 25 FBS Group of Five (G5) rankings based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending Dec. 19th, 2020–the last regular season rankings. Cincinnati stays at the top spot after capturing the AAC title against Tulsa to stay undefeated. Former #1 BYU stays at the #2 spot and was off this last week and will play #3 ranked UCF in the Boca Raton Bowl later next week.

The other undefeated G5 teams are located at the following positions: Coastal Carolina at #5 and San Jose State at #10.

All G5 schools with the exception Old Dominion, New Mexico State, and Connecticut are eligible for this poll. Those schools are not playing this fall due to COVID-19.

This will be the last ranking until a final rankings release after the national championship game in January.

Sagarin rankings provide the only rankings that actually ranks all Division I schools but our rankings will show just the FBS G5 side of things and have been used for several years with his own computer ranking system to distinguish strength of schedule and strength of team when comparing teams.
