Here are the Top 25 FCS rankings based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending Nov. 18th, 2023 following the Week 12 games–the last regular season week. This will be the final rankings until after the FCS playoffs conclude with the national championship game in January.
South Dakota State remains in the top spot as the Jackrabbits have started the season at the #1 team. The Jackrabbits remain undefeated after defeating Missouri State at home to enter the FCS playoffs also as the #1 seed. SDSU will play the winner of the opening round game of Gardner Webb vs. Mercer in the second round.
North Dakota State moves up a spot to the #2 position this week after the Bison defeated Northern Iowa on the road. NDSU was not selected as a seed and will host Drake in the opening round of the playoffs this upcoming week.
Montana State moves down a spot to the #3 position this week after the Bobcats lost at rival Montana this week. The Bobcats received the #6 seed in the FCS playoffs and will play the winner of NDSU-Drake in the second round.
Montana stays at the #4 spot this week following the Grizzlies easy win as mentioned above at home against Montana State. Montana gained the #2 seed in the FCS playoffs and will play the winner of the Delaware-Lafayette opening round game in the second round.
Idaho stays at the #5 position following the Vandals easy Battle of the Domes rival Idaho State this past week. Idaho received the #4 seed in the FCS playoffs and will play the winner of the Southern Illinois-Nicholls opening round game in the second round.
Sagarin rankings provide the only rankings that actually ranks all Division I schools but our rankings will show just the FCS side of things and have been used for several years with his own computer ranking system to distinguish strength of schedule and strength of team when comparing teams.

The numbers show the ranking in the FCS Top 25 as well as the overall Division I ranking.
