With the win, Sacramento State remained as the top ranked team, while Montana stayed at the #5 position.. South Dakota State moved up to the #2 position this week after defeating North Dakota on the road in Missouri Valley Football Conference play. Idle North Dakota State also from the MVFC, moved up a spot to the #3 position. Weber State moved down from the #2 spot to the #4 spot after falling at Montana State in Big Sky play.
Please note that FBS transitioning teams of Sam Houston and Jacksonville State will be a part of the FCS Sagarin rankings this year, while James Madison will be with the Group of Five rankings. This is due to the conference that each play in. Sam Houston and Jacksonville State will remain members of a FCS conference this fall, while James Madison is part of a FBS conference.
