College Sports Journal Sagarin High Major Men’s Basketball Top 25 – Mar. 7

Below are the Top 25 High-Major rankings, as well as overall, based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending March 7th. Gonzaga remains atop the standings and stays as the #1 team overall after not playing a game this past week. Gonzaga plays Saint Mary’s in the WCC Conference Tournament semi-finals tonight.

Houston remains second after a narrow win at home in AAC play against Memphis on a last second shot and will begin AAC Tournament play Friday.

San Diego State stays at the third spot after notching a road win over UNLV MWC play this past week. The Aztecs open Mountain West Conference Tournament play on Thursday.

The High-Major conferences include AAC, A-10, Conference USA, Mountain West, West Coast, and Missouri Valley conferences.

Sagarin rankings provide the only rankings that actually ranks all Division I schools but our rankings will show just the High Major side of things and have been used for several years with his own computer ranking system to distinguish strength of schedule and strength of team when comparing teams.
