Down is another undefeated team as South Florida could not mount another comeback in its loss at Houston. USF was not the only Top Ranked team to go down this week as Appalachian State lost at rival Georgia Southern and San Diego State lost at Nevada.

UCF, who was off this week, now is the only unblemished team left in the Group of Five.

Below is a brief summary of each conference and its race for a champion.

AAC
With Houston’s win, it now has the inside track to win on the West Division. UCF has the inside now with USF’s loss in the East Division but both are by far from the end with four weeks left in the regular season.

Sun Belt
In Group A (East), Georgia Southern and Troy have the inside track now and hold their own destiny to win this division now that Appalachian State has lost. In Group B (West), Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe are tied atop of the division and looks like their match-up later this year will decide who gets into the first ever Sun Belt Championship game.

Mountain West
The MWC took a little more shape with Utah State staying on top of the Mountain Division. Boise State won and the USU – BSU game looks like it will be the determining game down the line. With San Diego State losing and Fresno State winning, FSU controls the West Division but those teams will meet yet and that will likely determine this division.

MAC
The MAC races have just two remaining undefeated teams in conference play. Buffalo, who was off this week as the only unbeaten team in the East Division, while with Western Michigan losing, Northern Illinois takes over the West Division. NIU won a non-conference game at BYU this week.

Conference USA
C-USA has remains also with just two unblemished conference records with FIU winning easily at Western Kentucky in the East Division and UAB shutting out UTEP to stay as the lead candidates to meet in this conference’s title game.

Independents
Army moved to 6-2 overall with its win at the MAC’s Eastern Michigan to become bowl eligible. Liberty stays at 4-3 with its bye. BYU’s loss to Northern Illinois put a dent on its chances for a bowl game as it sits at 4-4.
