2018 In A Sentence: The Blue Hose limped to a 2-8 season, their only victories coming against a pair of NAIA schools, Bluefield College and Lindsey Wilson College. Outcomes like their 41-0 thrashing by Big South champions Kennesaw State were more the norm for the Blue Hose’s 2018 season.
Biggest Shoes to Fill: OL Tobias Hagins had a great year for the Blue Hose, recording 45 knockdowns in 10 starts during the 2018 season. Hagins didn’t allow a sack throughout the year, while picking up 31 touchdown and 1st down blocks on the season..
Key Player: LB Colby Campbell led Presbyterian and the Big South conference in tackles with 90. He also recorded 7.0 tackles for loss which ranked 10th in the Big South and was fifth amongst conference linebackers. He has the opportunity to continue to develop as a top-notch FCS linebacker.
Fearless Prediction: The Blue Hose, transitioning out of the Big South and into the Pioneer Football League, have some winnable games on the schedule against Stetson, Jacksonville, FCS newcomer Merrimack and NAIA St. Andrews. They’ll need to improve on their 115th ranking in total offense to have a chance in all of those games.
