Below are the Top 25 High-Major rankings based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending Mar. 6th, 2022.
Below are the Top 25 High-Major rankings based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending Feb. 20th, 2022.
Gonzaga stays at the top in these rankings, as well as the overall ranked team in the Sagarin rankings. The Bulldogs did not play at game this past week and enter the WCC Tournament Monday with a contest with San Francisco.
Houston stays at the #2 spot this week after the Cougars won two games but lost another to end their regular season. The Cougars defeated Cincinnati and Temple but fell in its last game to Memphis. Houston now enters the AAC tournament later this week.
Saint Mary’s stays in the number three spot this week. The Gaels did not have a game this past week but will play in the WCC Tournament Monday versus Santa Clara.
Memphis moves up a spot to the fourth position this week. The Tigers defeated South Florida and Houston in AAC play this past week and will enter into the AAC Tournament later this week.
San Diego State moves down a spot to the #5 position this week. The Aztecs move down despite winning three contests this past week in Mountain West play. SDSU defeated Wyoming, Fresno State, and Nevada in MWC play. The Aztecs will next play later this week in the MWC Tournament.
The High-Major conferences include AAC, A-10, Conference USA, Mountain West, West Coast, and Missouri Valley conferences.
Sagarin rankings provide the only rankings that actually ranks all Division I schools but our rankings will show just the High Major side of things and have been used for several years with his own computer ranking system to distinguish strength of schedule and strength of team when comparing teams.
