FBS G5 Week 9 Recap and Highlights
Four Top 25 CSJ Sagarin match-ups highlighted Week 9. The game of the week was #10 Houston at #2 USF and it did not disappoint. Houston rallied in the game’s final moments to pull off the upset of the previously undefeated Bulls in Tampa. #9 Colorado State also succumbed to an upset at #22 Air Force.
But both #3 Boise State’s and #5 Memphis’ match-ups both went as scripted with the Broncos thumping at #22 Utah State and the Tigers thrashing at #24 Tulane.
#1 UCF won in a blow-out win over FCS Austin Peay to remain the only undefeated team now in the Group of Five.
#4 Fresno State, fresh off its upset win at San Diego State last week, themselves succumbed to an upset themselves in losing at home to UNLV.
#6 Toledo remained in contention for the New Year’s Six Bowl bid with its blowout at Ball State, while #8 San Diego State did the same with its win at Hawai’i. #7 Navy was on a bye week.
