College Sports Journal Sagarin FCS Top 25–Apr. 11

Below are the Top 25 rankings based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending April 3rd. These rankings are amongst the now 88 schools participating in the spring schedule. Joining Illinois State, who opted out the prior week, to opt out of the season after starting their season are Albany, Chattanooga, and Cal Poly last week.

NOTE: the Ivy League and Mid-Eastern (MEAC) conferences are not participating in the 2021 spring schedule, although three teams in the MEAC are playing.

Sam Houston State takes over the top spot this week following the Bearkats Southland Conference title clinching win over McNeese State this past week.

North Dakota State moves down to the #2 position after being in the top spot last week despite the Bison defeating Northern Iowa on the road last week.

Southeastern Louisiana moves into the third spot this week following the Lions edging Nicholls State this past week.

CSJ will show weekly rankings from the Sagarin rankings throughout the season and will have a final ranking after the national championship game in May.

Sagarin rankings provide the only rankings that actually ranks all Division I schools but our rankings will show just the FCS side of things and have been used for several years with his own computer ranking system to distinguish strength of schedule and strength of team when comparing teams.

In the rankings, you will see the the FCS rankings first and the overall Division I ranking to the right of the the FCS ranking.

The Top 10 and Top 30 are the overall Division I Sagarin rankings.
