College Sports Journal Sagarin High Major Men’s Basketball Top 25 – Feb. 6

Below are the Top 25 High-Major rankings based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending Feb. 6th, 2022.
Gonzaga stays at the top in these rankings, as well as the overall ranked team in the Sagarin rankings. The Bulldogs defeated San Diego and BYU in WCC play this past week.
Houston stays at the #2 spot and still sit undefeated currently in the American Athletic Conference. The Cougars last week defeated Tulane and Cincinnati in AAC play
Saint Mary’s stays in the number three spot this week. These Gaels defeated two WCC foes in Portland and Loyola Marymount this past week.
Loyola Chicago moves into the fourth position this week. The Ramblers had Missouri Valley wins over Illinois State and Missouri State this past week.
Boise State rounds out the top five moving up into this position this week. The Broncos, however, lost to Wyoming but rebounded to defeat San Jose State in Mountain West play this past week.
The High-Major conferences include AAC, A-10, Conference USA, Mountain West, West Coast, and Missouri Valley conferences.
Sagarin rankings provide the only rankings that actually ranks all Division I schools but our rankings will show just the High Major side of things and have been used for several years with his own computer ranking system to distinguish strength of schedule and strength of team when comparing teams.
