Review: Big Sky Conference – Week 4

The first week of in-conference games started to shape the race to the Big Sky Conference title and eventual playoff hopes. Dog fights, statement wins, and lucky stars all aligned on this week as conference opponents took a step ahead of others while Sacramento State absolutely embarrassed FBS Colorado State. Week One Around the Big Sky

There were surprises across the Big Sky that were good and bad. Good: Portland State causes a scare for San Jose State, Idaho makes Washington State respect their effort, and Eastern Washington reloads with another stud quarterback. Bad: David Hoage is listed injured and UNC plays below Houston Baptist’s level, Cal Poly and NAU non-competitive.

The Big Sky Conference made plenty of headlines during out-of-conference play with four wins against FBS competition. This week will feature three Big Sky contests again missing the full slate once again due to COVID protocols. Nevertheless, there are some significant measuring stick games this weekend. Big Sky Football Preview Week of 2/27/21

The Big Sky Conference starts their six week conference only schedule this weekend. The teams opting not to play include Sacramento State, Montana, Montana State, Portland State, and Northern Colorado. The Big Sky continued to reveal its true self as close games proved who was the better team and blowouts solidified resumes.
