Here are the Top 25 FBS Group of Five (G5) rankings based on the Sagarin rankings for the week ending Aug. 26th, 2023 following the Week 0 games. We will will have a final ranking after all bowl games and the College Football Playoff national championship game in January. The top five positions remain unchanged.
The 2023 college football season got started in what used to be a select few games on the week before most teams start over Labor Day weekend. This year, there were seven FBS games with all of those involving at least one Group of Five squad. There were also three FCS games in this week.

The biggest upset in all of college football this week had to be Old Dominion’s win over AP #13 Virginia Tech. It was an unlikely upset as the Monarchs came in winless at 0-3 coming into this home contest but likely found its starting quarterback of the near future.
